The iPad Pro 12.9″ (3rd generation) has a 12.9″ Liquid Retina LCD display with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz (ProMotion).
The glass, touch layer and LCD form one assembly

FAQ - iPad Pro 12.9″ (3rd generation)
How much does a screen replacement cost for the iPad Pro 12.9″ (3rd generation)?
From 30,300 RSD (Aftermarket Screen) to 38,000 RSD (Complete Genuine Apple Screen Assembly), depending on the part you choose. The price includes the part and installation.
How long does a screen replacement take on the iPad Pro 12.9″ (3rd generation)?
Usually 1-3 days. Call before coming in so we can check whether the part for the iPad Pro 12.9″ (3rd generation) is in stock. This lets you drop off and collect the device without waiting for the part.
How can I check whether I have the iPad Pro 12.9″ (3rd generation)?
The number starting with the letter A is printed in small text on the back, and you can also see it in Settings (General › About) when you tap Model Number. For the iPad Pro 12.9″ (3rd generation) it is A1876, A2014, A1895 or A1983. The iPad Pro 12.9″ (3rd generation) was released in 2018, with the A12X Bionic chip.
Is only the glass or the whole screen replaced on the iPad Pro 12.9″ (3rd generation)?
The whole screen. On the iPad Pro 12.9″ (3rd generation) the glass, touch layer and display are fused into one part at the factory, so they are replaced together. That is why the price covers the whole screen assembly, not just the glass.
Does Face ID work after a screen replacement on the iPad Pro 12.9″ (3rd generation)?
Yes. The Face ID camera and sensors are not part of the screen; they stay in the top part of the device, so they are not replaced with the screen. If Face ID worked before the repair, it works after it too.
Does Apple Pencil work after a screen replacement on the iPad Pro 12.9″ (3rd generation)?
The iPad Pro 12.9″ (3rd generation) supports Apple Pencil (2nd generation) and Apple Pencil (USB-C). The Pencil works through the touch layer of the screen, so if you use it, tell us when you drop off the device - we will check that the part we fit supports the Pencil and test it after the replacement.
Is the screen on the iPad Pro 12.9″ (3rd generation) the same as on the iPad Pro 12.9″ (6th generation)?
No. Both have a 12.9″ display, but the iPad Pro 12.9″ (3rd generation) has an LCD panel, while the iPad Pro 12.9″ (6th generation) has a Mini-LED panel, so the parts are not interchangeable.
Is the screen on the iPad Pro 12.9″ (3rd generation) the same as on the iPad Pro 12.9″ (5th generation)?
No. Both have a 12.9″ display, but the iPad Pro 12.9″ (3rd generation) has an LCD panel, while the iPad Pro 12.9″ (5th generation) has a Mini-LED panel, so the parts are not interchangeable.
Will a screen from the iPad Pro 12.9″ (4th generation) fit the iPad Pro 12.9″ (3rd generation)?
Yes. The iPad Pro 12.9″ (3rd generation) and iPad Pro 12.9″ (4th generation) use the same screen.
Can I use the iPad Pro 12.9″ (3rd generation) with a cracked screen?
For a while, yes, but we don't recommend waiting long. Dust and moisture get in through the cracks, and sharp glass can cut your finger. On an LCD screen like the one on the iPad Pro 12.9″ (3rd generation), bright patches or spots often appear after a knock, or part of the screen stops responding to touch.
How long is the warranty on the screen for the iPad Pro 12.9″ (3rd generation)?
6 months for every screen option. The warranty covers defects or failure of the installed screen. It does not cover damage caused after the repair by impacts, drops or liquid exposure. This applies to all screen layers: if the glass remains intact after an impact but spots or lines appear, that is also impact damage.
