When it is time for a new screen
A laptop screen is most often damaged when the lid is closed on a small object (a pen, earphones, a crumb) or when the laptop is dropped in a bag.
Cracked screen
A crack or a spider-web spot after pressure or a fall. The damage usually spreads, so it is better to replace the screen in time.
Lines on the picture
Vertical or horizontal coloured lines that do not go away after a restart.
Spots and stains
Black, purple or bright spots on part of the screen, or the picture flickers.
No picture
The laptop works (the keyboard lights up, you hear sound), but the screen stays black. Diagnostics show whether the fault is in the screen, the cable or the logic board.
How a MacBook screen is replaced
On newer MacBook models the screen is replaced as a complete assembly (the lid with the display), because the glass, the panel and the cables are joined together. After the replacement we check the picture, the backlight, the camera and how the lid opens and closes.

FAQ
How long does a MacBook screen replacement take?
Usually 1-3 days after the part arrives. We do not keep MacBook screens in stock at all times, so after your enquiry we let you know the price and the turnaround time.
Will I lose my data?
No. Only the screen is replaced, the drive and your data stay untouched. We still recommend making a backup before the repair (Time Machine or iCloud).
How can I check whether the screen is the problem?
Connect the laptop to an external monitor or TV. If the picture is fine there, the fault is most likely in the screen. If there is no picture there either, bring the laptop in for free diagnostics.
Are diagnostics free?
Yes. The inspection and diagnostics are free. If we cannot repair the device or solve the problem, we do not charge for the service.
Do you need my passcode?
Not for a screen or battery replacement. For camera replacement or logic board repair, we usually need it to test all the device’s functions. You can still choose to test those functions yourself at our repair shop, although this may take longer.
What does the warranty cover?
The warranty lasts 6 months and covers a fault or failure of the fitted part. It does not cover physical damage after the repair, such as a knock, a drop or liquid damage.
Can I send the device instead of coming in?
Yes. With iPickUp we collect the device from your address and bring it back repaired. The service costs 1,500 RSD and is available in the Belgrade area. Call us to book it.
When are you open?
We are open Monday to Friday, from 10:00 to 16:00. We are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. You will find us at Kosovska 28, in Stari Grad.
