Signs of a logic board fault
Will not turn on
The screen stays black and the phone does not respond to the charger or the buttons.
Restarts by itself
The phone turns off and on in a loop, or gets stuck while starting up.
No signal or Wi-Fi
The signal disappears, and Wi-Fi or Bluetooth cannot be turned on.
Heats up for no reason
The phone gets warm even when you are not using it, and the battery drains quickly.
What a logic board repair is
The logic board is the central part of the iPhone that connects and controls practically all of its functions. It carries many integrated circuits, SMD components, connectors and other electronic elements that support the phone’s power, charging, communication, camera, sound, display and other systems.
When just one of those components fails, the phone can start showing various symptoms - from charging or network problems to complete failure. At the same time the screen, battery and other parts can be perfectly fine, so replacing them will not solve the problem.
Damage to the electronics most often happens after a drop or physical damage, contact with liquid, power problems or a faulty charger, but the cause can also be a failed component or the result of a previous repair.
With faults like these, replacing a part is not enough. A detailed diagnosis of the logic board is needed to find out exactly where the problem occurs and which component or circuit is responsible. We first check the simpler and more common causes - the battery, connectors, cables and software - and only when those are ruled out do we move on to diagnosing and repairing the electronics on the logic board.
Depending on the fault, the repair may involve replacing individual SMD components, integrated circuits, connectors or other electronic elements, as well as repairing the board itself.
Common logic board faults
- the phone will not turn on or restarts by itself
- it does not charge even with a new port
- no signal, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth
- the microphone or speaker does not work, although the parts are fine
- the camera does not work after a drop

FAQ
My data matters to me. Can it be saved?
Saving the data is often the main goal of a logic board repair. On Apple devices, to access the data the phone has to be repaired to the point where the operating system can boot. Only then is the data accessible and can be saved.
Before the repair, it is important to tell us whether only the data matters to you or whether it is more important that the phone works again.
How long does a logic board repair take?
It depends on the fault. Logic board repairs take more time and patience. After diagnostics, we give you the repair time along with the price.
Is a logic board repair worth it?
Usually yes, because replacing the whole board or the phone is much more expensive. If a repair is not worthwhile, we will tell you. If we don't fix the fault, you pay nothing.
Can the whole logic board be replaced?
Usually a new logic board cannot be obtained. They are not distributed as separate service parts. Used boards are an option, but that is usually not worth it.
Are diagnostics free?
Yes. The inspection and diagnostics are free. If we cannot repair the device or solve the problem, we do not charge for the service.
Will I lose my data?
No. Our repairs do not require erasing the device. Photos, apps, documents and settings stay where they were.
Do you need my passcode?
Not for a screen or battery replacement. For camera replacement or logic board repair, we usually need it to test all the device’s functions. You can still choose to test those functions yourself at our repair shop, although this may take longer.
What does the warranty cover?
The warranty lasts 6 months and covers a fault or failure of the fitted part. It does not cover physical damage after the repair, such as a knock, a drop or liquid damage.
Can I send the device instead of coming in?
Yes. With iPickUp we collect the device from your address and bring it back repaired. The service costs 1,500 RSD and is available in the Belgrade area. Call us to book it.
