When the camera or sensors need service
Blurry images, spots or focusing problems
The picture is blurry although the lens is clean, the same spot appears on every photo, or the camera cannot focus.
Is only the camera lens glass cracked?
If the picture is still sharp, a camera lens glass replacement is enough - it is quicker and much cheaper than replacing the whole camera.
The screen stays on during calls
The proximity sensor does not work, so your cheek presses buttons on the screen while you talk.
Cameras and sensors on the iPhone
The iPhone has several cameras and sensors: the main cameras on the back, the front camera, and the proximity and ambient light sensors. The light sensor adjusts the screen brightness, and the proximity sensor turns the screen off when you hold the phone to your ear.
Cameras are very sensitive to knocks and drops. A strong impact can damage the focusing mechanism: the camera no longer focuses, the picture shakes or is blurry. That mechanism is part of the camera itself and cannot be repaired separately, so the only solution is replacing the whole camera module.
On models with two or three cameras on the back, the main cameras are joined in one module. So even when only one of them is damaged, they are all replaced together.
After a drop the sensors can also stop responding. During free diagnostics we find out whether the fault is in the part itself or on the logic board, and only then suggest a repair.
The camera or just the camera lens glass?
These are two different repairs, even though their names sound similar. Camera replacement means opening the phone and replacing the whole camera module - when the picture is blurry, has spots or the camera does not focus. Camera lens glass replacement involves replacing only the protective glass over the lens and usually does not require opening the phone. Note: if the camera lens glass on the housing is cracked, protect it straight away and cover it with clear tape. Cameras are very sensitive to dust and glass fragments. Once they reach the lens or the focus mechanism, new glass no longer helps and the camera needs replacing.

FAQ
Is just the camera lens glass replaced, or the whole camera?
It depends on the fault. If only the protective glass is cracked and the picture is sharp, only the glass is replaced - that is a separate, much cheaper service. See camera lens glass replacement. If the picture is blurry, has spots or the camera does not focus, a new camera is usually needed. We find out exactly what is needed during free diagnostics.
Why are my photos still blurry after replacing the camera lens glass?
If the glass was cracked for a long time, dust and fragments have probably already reached the lens or the focus mechanism. Then new glass does not help and the camera needs replacing.
What does the “Unknown Part” message mean after a camera replacement?
Since iOS 15.2, iPhone has included a Parts and Service History section in Settings. The “Unknown Part” message means the phone could not verify the installed camera as a genuine Apple part. “Which camera should you choose?” explains the message shown for each option.
Are diagnostics free?
Yes. The inspection and diagnostics are free. If we cannot repair the device or solve the problem, we do not charge for the service.
Will I lose my data?
No. Our repairs do not require erasing the device. Photos, apps, documents and settings stay where they were.
Do you need my passcode?
Not for a screen or battery replacement. For camera replacement or logic board repair, we usually need it to test all the device’s functions. You can still choose to test those functions yourself at our repair shop, although this may take longer.
What does the warranty cover?
The warranty lasts 6 months and covers a fault or failure of the fitted part. It does not cover physical damage after the repair, such as a knock, a drop or liquid damage.
Can I send the device instead of coming in?
Yes. With iPickUp we collect the device from your address and bring it back repaired. The service costs 1,500 RSD and is available in the Belgrade area. Call us to book it.
When are you open?
We are open Monday to Friday, from 10:00 to 16:00. We are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. You will find us at Kosovska 28, in Stari Grad.
